- Do you work all day and if so, how tired are you when you come home?
- Do you and your family have activities most evenings and weekends? Can your dog comfortably join you in these activities?
- Are you buying the dog for someone else and will you derive any enjoyment from the animal if the other person becomes too busy?
- Do you have enough time in your life to care properly for this new family member or will you begrudge the extra work load?
- Do you enjoy daily walks or would you rather watch T.V.?
- Are you a "neat freak"? Will a little hair and mud make you upset?
- Will you have enough finances to properly care for the dog? The purchase price is probably a very small amount of the total cost of owning a dog.
- Do you have a fenced-in backyard, a large acreage or an off-leash park nearby?
